Daryl’s Brain: Where’s the on button?
Kashmir’s Brain: Not sure, there’s no tower.
Daryl’s Brain: Here it is…on the back of the monitor?
Kashmir’s Brain: Okay, we want to use the webcam to take pictures. Do you know how to do that?
Daryl’s Brain: I can’t find the program. None of these icons are what we need.
Kashmir’s Brain: Don’t these computer just know what application you want?

I recently got an email from my mother-in-law. In it, there was a list of amusing puns. However, do you know how some emails add “>” to each line of the previous email? If an email has been sent around many times you will get “>>>>>>>>” in front of the lines. Well, apparently some will use “*” instead. The end result in this case was that one such joke read:
** 6. A group of chess enthusiasts checked into a hotel and were standing in the *****lobby discussing their recent tournament victories. After about an hour, the **** manager came out of the office and asked them to disperse. “But why?”, they **** asked, as they moved off. “Because,” he said,” I can’t stand **** chess-nuts boasting in an open ********* foyer.” *
I was highly amused.

Okay, maybe it won’t save the world, but it’s a big step to making it a better place. Kiva is a website where you can loan money to businesses in the third world. A small amount of money makes a huge difference for them. There is risk involved, of course, but you only loan very small amounts (like $25) so the risk is mitigated somewhat. Check it out and let me know what you think.

I repeat, NOT moving. It would be far too much effort to do what I was thinking of doing with WordPress and it really isn’t worth it. I can get done what I want in other ways without fiddling with this finicky product.
Argh!
UPDATE: It may not be moving, but it is undergoing a bit of work. I’ve lost some information and I’ve managed to get some functionality that I was looking for, but at least I managed to keep all the posts and comment (that was a close one).

Actually it’s almost dead still at the moment. However, the site it created to post it’s thoughts to might be having its address changed. The new address, whenever this actually happens, will be the same as the current one but with “/blog/” added on the the end of it. The current address will still work, it will just take you to a different page from which you will be able to access this one.
Why, you ask?
That’s a good question. Let me ask my brain and get back to you on that one.

Apparently Microsoft really wants (to force) people to move ‘ahead’ with their MS products. Now, if you have installed the latest service pack for Office 2003, you may notice that you can no longer open documents that have been saved in an older format. *sigh*
Not to worry, there does exist a registry edit work-around for this problem.

Apparently, Vista is sooo good that Microsoft has made an improvement allowing VISTA users to downgrade to XP.

I’ve known about RSS feeds for a while now but have never really went anywhere with that knowledge. Now, however, I have discovered Google Reader. See that orange-ish colored icon at the end of the address bar? Click on it and it will allow you to subscribe to several different methods of tracking prople’s blogs. My favourite method is Google reader. You will need to set up an account, but it’s free. Then simply visit all the blogs that you normally visit and click that orange-ish icon. Once you’ve added them all to Google Reader you just have to go to one page to see all the blogs listed out. Blogs with new posts are bold making it easy to scan and quickly read.
You can spend less time reading blogs this way. You can also cover more blogs causing you to spend more time blogging…your choice.
